Activity 1: Building a structure
We kick off with a quick tour through the research project. Thereafter we will all engage in a real-life case of what we call a ‘transient project team’. [Slides]

10.00-10.15 · Getting started in culturally & linguistically diverse projects
In this talk we dive into how people get to know each other in transient project teams and what implications the beginning can have for collaboration. [Slides]

10.15-10.45 · Cultural bias in multicultural projects & what to do about it
Activity 2: Observe, describe, interpret
Whether we are conscious of it or not, we all have cultural bias which can influence how we work together in a project. As part of this theme, we’ll explore how to catch our cultural biases in action, as well as what happens if we don’t. [Slides]

11.00-11.30 · Collaboration in a multilingual workplace
Activity 3: Chairing a multilingual meeting
Whether project members have a shared language or draw from multiple languages, what language is chosen for team communication can influence the success or failure of collaboration. As part of this workshop theme, we dive into the importance of language choices and participation in project teams. [Slides]

We wrap up by reflecting on the workshop and discussing steps forward for your specific situations.
